Of all the villains who have battled the various Green Lanterns in the DC Comics lore, none have been as influential as Sinestro. Once he became a member of the Green Lantern Corps, the Kurugarian was demobilized for abusing his power, he continued to embrace the Yellow Energy of Fear and continued to build the Yellow Lanterns, the Sinestro Corps. Sinestro and some of his fear-obsessed allies will appear Green Lantern: Beware My PowerI learned from supervising producer Boch Lukic how the Sinestro Corps ended up in this DC animated movie.
Green Lantern: Beware My Power It will be the second time that Sinestro Corps has appeared in an animated film, as the group previously appeared in 2011 Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. During my conversation with Butch Lukich about Beware my strength, I inquired about how the Sinestro Corps lineup was chosen, noting specifically how interesting it was for Despero to be thrown into the mix since he doesn’t usually belong to Sinestro in the comics. Lukic replied:
The story of Despero that Butch Lukic is referring to is Justice Squad A two-part “Heart and Minds”, which saw Keith David-voed version of the character using the Flame of Py’tar to defeat several Green Lanterns. as far as Green Lantern: Beware My PowerThe inclusion of Sinestro Corps in general, however, came from one of the film’s character designers wanting to use these fear factors rather than just having Sinestro lead some general bounty hunters. Hey, if the super villain needs some minions to carry out his will, why not equip them with the yellow power rings?
taking place in the same continuity as Superman: The Man of TomorrowAnd the Justice Society: World War II And the Batman: Long Halloween (not to be confused with the DC Animated Movie Universe), Green Lantern: Beware My Power stars black AdamAldis Hodge as Jon Stewart, a recently demobilized Marine sniper who suddenly finds himself receiving a Green Lantern energy ring. Not long after, Jon is forced to risk being caught in the middle of a war between Ran and Thangar that includes the Sinestro Corps. Beware my strengthThe cast also includes Jimmy Simpson as Green Arrow, Jamie Gray Hyder as Hawkgirl, Brian Bloom as Adam Strange and Rick D. Wasserman as Sinestro. Behind the scenes, Jeff Wamster directed, and John Semper and Ernie Earnest wrote the script.
Green Lantern: Beware My Power It will premiere at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 22 at 6:30 p.m. PT at Ballroom 20, after which it will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital on Tuesday, July 26 by Warner Bros.
